Scope of Work: Consolidate aircraft simulator facilities by reconfiguring the interior of Building 2394 to accommodate an AH-1Z Flight Training Device (FTD) and a Marine Common Aircrew Trainer (MCAT) aviation operational trainer and demolishing Building 23223.
Reconfiguration of the interior of the Building 2394 includes converting the single high bay simulator room into two high bay simulator rooms and also reconfiguring the briefing and training spaces that support each simulator. Work in each room includes fire protection systems, roll-up and pedestrian doors, associated utilities, interior finishes and a single access control point. The high bay work includes a CMU block wall, drywall, overhead rollup door, pedestrian doors, flooring, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and finishes.
New and existing interior doors affected by the repair and are part of the means of egress will require panic hardware.
New and existing interior doors that lead to a secured space and are part of the means of egress will need to comply with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA 101.
Special construction features include communications cable, public address system, intrusion detection system infrastructure, anti-terrorism force protection, post construction award services, minor traffic control, operation and maintenance support information, and regional materials and commissioning.
Supporting facilities inside include epoxy floor and markings, bollards, concrete slab patching and leveling, concrete housekeeping pads, selective site demolition and cleanup, electrical distribution and upgrades and exterior lighting attached to building, and mechanical distribution and upgrades, EMCS, and fire systems.
Exterior repairs include relocating the existing emergency generator and associated electrical work to an existing concrete pad, concrete sidewalks, roads, fencing and bollards. Outside supporting facilities include concrete asphalt road and driveway, striping, bollards, concrete pads, sidewalks, selective site demolition, cleanup, excavation and grading, clearing and grubbing, borrow, fencing and barriers, and electrical distribution and upgrades.
Areas affected by repair will be in compliance with applicable ATFP, Fire Suppression, Seismic, Accessibility, ASHRAE codes and standards upon completion of the project.
